• What is Herr K?
  Herr K is an international music project. We leverage the internet and computers to record music and perform data transfer. The creative process does not depend on the physical presence of musicians in the studio, instruments, music theory, music styles or the music industry. Long live the internet and progressive computer technologies!
  
  
• Who are the members of Herr K?
  We are people just like you. If you want to know more about us – just listen to the music of Herr K. Our music speaks for us.
  
  
• What ist the current status of Herr K project?
  It's on hiatus after the 2007 release.
  
  
• Do the members of Herr K come from Germany?
  Yes, few members including K Alex live in Germany, but not all of us. Herr K is an international project.
  
  
• Why is everything written in English?
  We have chosen English because it is an international language.
  
  
• Why do you make your albums available in mp3 format for free?
  Because we are not a part of the record industry, and it is not our goal to earn any money with our music. We feel that the MP3 format is the best solution for transferring music via the internet today. The sound quality of MP3s depends on the software codecs and we use the best of the best. Of course we need money, but we insist that the music be free of distribution fees. We are not against pressing the CDs for sale, but it's much more important to us that we provide everyone with the production of best possible quality and free access to our music. Please feel free to share our music with others. Free art for everyone!
  
  
• Doesn't "copy kill music"?
  Usually money kills music. Copying music kills money.
  
  
• Are the members of Herr K in other bands?
  The members of Herr K collaborate with other bands from time to time and for some of our members Herr K is a side-project and they have their own bands. But If you really like the work of Herr K and are interested in finding out more about related artists, please check the releases in the "free music download" section of the www.artpartisans.de.
  
  
• What does "Herr K" mean?
  "Herr K" means "Mister K" in German, who is a character in Bertold Brecht short stories.
  
  
• Isn't that name copyright protected?
  Yes, it is, and we have official permission from Bertold Brecht's legal representation to use this name.
  
  
• Are you interested in feedback from your listeners?
  Yes, we appreciate all constructive feedback. Please use a "contact" form of this web site to send us your impressions.
  
  
• Are Herr K's manager, webmaster and other participants all different people?
  They are not people, but roles. Usually an artist related to Herr K does these roles. We do not have an actual manager because it is too expensive and not in the spirit of our beliefs.
  
  
• May I share Herr K's mp3s with friends or in file-sharing systems?
  Yes, you are welcome to share as long as you don't demand money.
  
  
• May I release Herr K's music on my label?
  Releasing our music on any label requires written permission. Please contact us with information regarding yourself and your label. We are generally open to such requests.
  
  
• May I use Herr K's music/artwork, etc on my website/web radio, etc.?
  Using our music/artwork requires written permission. Please contact us with information about yourself and your organization to acquire the required permission. We are generally open to such requests.
  
  
• May I use the music of Herr K in my video/audio production ?
  This will require written permission. Please contact us with information about yourself and your project. We are generally open to such requests.
  
  
• May I print Herr K's T-Shirts, posters and other products?
  Printing Herr K paraphernalia requires our written permission. We do not usually produce commercial products. However, if you have particular ideas, please contact us with information about yourself, your ideas and your organization.

• Any live shows?
  We don't totally exclude this possibility, but unfortunately this could be impossible for various reasons. Herr K is mostly a web- and computer-based studio project, the participants live in different cities and countries.

  www.artpartisans.de was founded by the members of Herr K for anti-commercial music distribution and we run it.
